The Santa Clarita Philharmonic will present two free concerts for the 2018-2019 season at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at the College of the Canyons.

 

Light Up the Holiday
Sunday, December 2, 2018, 3 p.m.
The Santa Clarita Philharmonic begins its sixth season with a lighter approach to the holidays. The first half of the concert will feature holiday selections that will put everyone in a joyous spirit and will feature vocalist Rachel Cole joining the orchestra for several original compositions. You will be thrilled by Rachel’s beautiful voice and captivated by her engaging style. The second half of the concert will continue with holiday favorites, and the concert will conclude with a sing-a-long of the “Hallelujah Chorus” from Handel’s “Messiah.”

 

Youth and “Pops”
Sunday, March 3, 2019, 3 p.m.
For our winter concert, the Santa Clarita will present the winner of our 5th Student Concerto Competition. The contest is open to junior and senior high school students throughout the Santa Clarita area. The student selected will perform with the orchestra. Also on the program are selections from Broadway shows, Hollywood film scores, and other popular music.

The Santa Clarita Philharmonic announces its fifth annual Student Concerto Competition. The winner of the competition will perform with the orchestra at the March 3rd concert.

Who We Are:

The Santa Clarita Philharmonic is a community-based, volunteer symphony orchestra comprised of professional, semi-professional, avocational, and student musicians from throughout the Santa Clarita Valley and surrounding areas. The SCP is dedicated to providing quality musical opportunities and performances for the residents of the Santa Clarita Valley. The orchestra is a non-profit organization supported by donations from individuals and companies that recognize the importance of continuing the great tradition of music in the community for both players and audiences. The SCP is classified as a 501(c)(3) exempt organizations and all donations are tax deductible.
